ex husbands wife hit me

what can I do about protecting my children from a violent person. My ex husbands wife is nasty to me and my children. She physically hit me at the last exchange. What choices do I have? thank you Michelle

Hello,

A couple of your options you go to court to get help with. One is a restraining order that stops her from harming you or threatening to. Another option is some new order regarding your visits/placement with children. Some arrangement and order may have to be made by a judge so that when the exchange takes place the woman is not present or is at least supervised. If the hits you and hurts you, you also could consider reporting her to the police and presssing charges. I have no idea which of these options is best for you or when, because I dont have all the facts. You will either need to file some motions in the court yourself, hire a lawyer to give you some help, or work things out with her and/or your ex-husband so that this does not happen again.
