Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin

Ins pymt to ex

My divorce papers state that I am to have my 2 kids on my health ins, but have never worked in a position that offers ins. My ex wife has had them on her policy and is suppose to send a copy of her pay stub stating how much ins is taken out every 2 weeks, she has yet to do this in over 5 years. I have recently remarried and she suddenly sent me a a typed document stating every amount taken from her check since 2000 and expects me to now pay this. Is there a time limit as to when she sends me copies of her check stubs so I can reimburse? Am I legally obligated to pay what she states on her typed up document without actually seeing her pay stubs? As I stated this has been over 5 years now and the amount is almost $7000. Do I have anything on my side for this? The legal papers state that her ins ranges every 2 weeks with an amount given, but her typed paper she sent me is outside of that range. Can I argue anything with that? I would appreciate any advise as I do not have an extra $7000 to hand over to her tomorrow! Thank-you.

Hello,

If you don't pay, she may take you to court to try to collect and enforce the divorce judgment. You will have an argument to make. I can't say whether you will win or lose, because I don't know all the facts, and results can vary depending on who the judge or court commissioner is. It is possible that you may excused from the past payments, or part of them, but have to be responsible for them in the future. However, it is not predictable how that will turn out, because you may have other legal options, and so may she. Either you hire a lawyer to help you with that, or you try to figure those out yourself.

Best wishes, Mark J. Mahoney
