Can a lawyer appear on behalf of the plantiff in a contempt paternity case

A contempt proceeding general is commenced with an Order to Show Cause which is an Order requiring the Plaintiff's appearance at the proceeding. If the Plaintiff fails to appear, a warrant may issue.
