Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin

Seperation and Custody

My husband and I have been living as roommates for several years because of lack of money to get a proper divorce. We both agree that is best we get a divorce and that is not the issue here. The issue is he has agreed to let me and my daughter move to Florida where I grew up to continue college and he will stay in Wisconsin until he saves the money to move himself. I would like to know what steps to take to ensure that when I do move he will not be able to go against what he says and take legal action for my leaving the state with our daughter.

Re: Seperation and Custody

Hello,

Your final divorce decree can refer to an agreement that you and your husband sign

wherein you agree that you can have placement of your child in Florida. If he signs it and then the court orders it, he would have to go back into court with a good reason to get it changed.
