Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin

I was served papers yesterday for a petition for placement and custody of my minor child in the paperwork it states that I have 20 days to respond but does not tell me what I need to respond to and to whom I have been unable to contact anyone in my area for advice and I do not want to lose my child does anyone have any advice on what I need to do?
