Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin

I get Social Security because my dad died when I was younger. I'm under 18 and I will continue to get this money throughout college. I'm not sure if I get this money due to the fact that my dad is dead or because he served in the National Guard. But anyways, there is a boarding school that I want to go to but that means I would be away from my mom. Would my mom and I still receive that money if I were to go and no longer be under her care full time? We actually do need this money to live, due to my mom's low paying factory job.

You would be best off calling the US Social Security office and asking them. Most attorneys will not have experience with this exact situation, so they probably won't have an answer for you.

Further, they is agency law and the agency code is not family law statues.

So, it might be best to post this under social security here in LawGuru.
