Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin
Travel Expenses in Child Support
Divorced 14 years...ex moving his family to Seattle, WA. Child of the marriage is 16 years old. His income 105,000...I'm a married homemaker. Receiving child support payments of $563 bi-monthly (based on the fact, has 5 overnights in 2 week period). He wants me to pay for travel expenses for Lindsay (child) to go to Seattle for visits. How does this normally work? I would like it to be 2 extended visits of winter break and summer. This would still be less than 90 days. Do I have to pay for both visits or does he? Isn't 17% of 105,000 = 17,850..$693.75 bi monthly? We have always tried to keep this out of the court system.

The law of visitation expenses is complex. A
good lawyer can ofter work out a creative
arrangment which benefits everyone, and which
can result in deductability of some of the
payor spouses expenses. You need legal advice.
