Legal Question in Family Law in Wisconsin
Will I be held in contempt?
I have full physical custody of my daughter, and my ex-husband has rights to see her every other holiday and a few weeks in the summer. I reside in Wisconsin, where I lived prior to our divorce, and he moved to Colorado. In our marital agreement, he is responsible for the travel arrangements and costs for travel to pick her up, and he has been driving to pick her up. He wants her to fly this time, and I've been against it from the beginning, as she is only 8 years old. Do I have any say in the travel arrangements? Can I tell him no, I don't want her to fly, and I not be held in contempt?

Re: Will I be held in contempt?
If your ex is to enforce any visitation rights he needs to comply with the judgment. I cannot comment further without seeing the actual judgment. Assuming he does all that is required then you could be required by the court to facilitate the visits even if the child is to fly. All airlines have some form of accommodation for young children flying alone. You should call your local airlines to determine what their policies are and to make sure you are comfortable with them.
You should also have the divorce judgment reviewed by an attorney to be certain you know what your ex has to do before you are required to accommodate the visit.
