Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Wisconsin

Attempt at recovering property from auction

I am wondering about recovering property from an auction. A friend had been told that some items were worth less than $100.00 and so she sold them @ an auction. The items had been assessed at nearly $20,000 about 10 years ago, w/written documentation stating this. I am guessing that the auctioneer new they were worth more than $100.00. The items were family heirlooms. Is there any chance at recovering them if she can find out who they were sold to? And perhaps any legal recourse against the auctioneer?

Re: Attempt at recovering property from auction

If this was a court orderred auction, i.e., pursuant to a probate case, the persons properly carrying out the court's orders would certainly have immunity from suit.
