my case was changed to a civil judgement agents me. i need to know what this is and if thy can take my car or if i purchus a home on land contract can thy take it also. also i am not married at this time, if i would marry in the future would he be held acountable for this. i live on disableit thought the state which is only$683.00 a month. i have known money the pay at this time. i can not even pay knowmale living expenses. thanks

A civil judgment allows creditors to garnishee wages and sieze assets which are not properly claimed as exempt. The judgment will also serve as a lien against any real estate you own in the county where it is docketted. If these things concern you, you should consult with a bankruptcy attorney, since most judgment can be discharged in bankruptcy. Good luck!
