i had some construction done on my
house while out of town when i got
home i found that a large amount of
cash was missing from my house, is
there anything i can do?

My first reaction is that theft of personal property from the home is usually covered under homeowner's insurance or renter's insurance. Here, you might have some difficulty with the insurer, however, in terms of proving that you actually had the cash you claim.
