Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Wisconsin

Reopening a Civil Judgment

My boyfriend had a civil judgment entered against him in the State of WI in Dec. 2000. Because of various circumstances, he was never given an opportunity to be heard in court, was not properly served with the Summons and Complaint, and believes the grounds under which he was sued are invalid. The judgment has not yet been docketed, but there is a calendar call on 4/5/01. What does he need to do to ''reopen'' this case? Is there a statute of limitations? What does he need to do get his day in court?

Re: Reopening a Civil Judgment

Your description makes no sense. There would

not normally be a "calender call" after a

judgement has been enterred unless there

are post judgement collection proceedings

going on. Those can lead to an arrest

warrant if not properly handled. Get an Atty.

ASAP! Send me a private e-mail with further details

if you wish.
