There are many different statutes of limitations in WI for different types of claims. Damage to property claims usually have a six year limitations period and can be barred if brought later than that, while intentional damages usually face a two year limit. Multiple limitations can apply to any given claim depending upon how it is characterized. You therefore need legal advice as to how to best frame your claim if it is an old one, since the option you select could determine whether or not the lawsuit would survive a motion to dismiss.
