Legal Question in Immigration Law in Wisconsin
My H1b visa is expiring on Jan'2011. My wife has filed a DV case against me in India.
Now I wuld like to know will I face any problem in my visa renewal/extension, if I suppress this fact from USCIS?

Hi,
H visa status allows for intention to immigrate to the U.S. Thus, there will be no problem in extending your H1B status.

If you mean divorce, that should be no problem. If you mean Domestic Violence that could pose a problem, as a conviction for such would make you ineligible for a Green Card. Furthermore, anytime you are discovered to have lied or been dishonest on an application, it will have negative consequences, as all decisions require a showing of good moral character.
