Legal Question in Immigration Law in Wisconsin
Immagrant
My soon to be husband is an illegal immagrant and we want him to become legal. How do we go about doing this once we get married?

Re: Immagrant
This is a very vague question, and I would need much more information to answer the question, such as your immigration status, what status your fiance entered the country, how long he has been present here unlawfully. There may be issues relating to whether or not he may be even eligible to get a green card through marriage. Discussing these issues with an immigration attorney will help decide whether he can get a green card.

Thank you!
Re: Immigrant
You can file a visa petition in the U.S., and once approved, attend an immigrant visa interview at the U.S. embassy in his home country. At that time he will need to file for a waiver to pardon his illegal entry into the U.S.
