Legal Question in Insurance Law in Wisconsin
Injury and loss of income
I was injured in an accident that took place at someone's property and I have been unable to work due to the injury/surgery. Can I make a claim against the homeowners insurance for my loss of income?

Re: Injury and loss of income
Sorry to hear about your predicament.
Having such a severe injury is difficult.
You most certainly can make a claim
against the property owner's policy
for what is called medical payments
coverage for your medical expenses.
This coverage is usually in a limited amount such as $5,000.00. It pays bills
without regard to whether the property owner was at fault.
You may make a claim under the liability portion of the property owner's policy if the owner/occupier
was somehow at fault for your injuries.
Liability coverage is generally in
a larger amount and may be adequate to compensate you for your injuries.
