Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Wisconsin
if i type up a description of my invention in my yahoo account and then email it to myself have i made it public? in other words have i thereby foreclosed my rights to file a patent.

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. Sending something to yourself via email does not place the information in the public domain. Baring other public disclosures, you are very likely good to go for filing a patent. Consult with a good intellectual property or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
