Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Wisconsin

Buying a home while still renting-can I get out of lease?

I am currently living in an apartment and the lease doesn't run out until July 2006. I have heard that if you buy a home or condo (in my case) state law says that you will be let out of your lease and can move into your home that you bought. I need to know if this is true before I start exploring condos and loan options. Please give me as much information that you can and even websites that would help me if possible. Thank You very much.

Have an attorney review your lease first. Then approach your landlord with the option of finding a subtenant if he/she won't let you out. If you pay for ads and help show it, you may have a leg up. I have been a landlord for 25 years.
