Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Wisconsin
sherriff served me papers for court appearance
What would happen if I do not show up for that court proceeding? It is a lawsuit that pertains to landlord/tenant. My landlord is buing sued by a previous tenant and the previous tenat wants me to be the witness. I told them I do not want anything to do with it and they had me served for court. I do not want to go to court.

I would need to review the "papers" but you should read them CAREFULLY: If it is an ORDER or SUBPOENA you would be taking a very big risk of arrest for CONTEMPT of COURT if you ignore it.
