medical malpractice
Is there a time frame in which I would have to file a suit for medical malpratice in WI? There was many mistakes made and my husband passed away Nov 8, 2007. He was 49 years old went in for a hip replacement.

Re: medical malpractice
The general statute of limitations is 3 years from the malpractice event or 1 year from discovery, but generally not any longer than 5 years from event for discovery. This can be a tricky area; therefore, you should act immediately to protect your legal rights. If you want to contact me, I can provide the name of a qualified medical malpractice attorney so that you can discuss your case with him. There would be no fee for the consultation. Thank you.

Please be aware that my answer is not legal advice,it is merely information. The only way that I am legally responsible for your legal rights is if you have signed a written retainer agreement with my law firm.
Re: medical malpractice
The statute of limitations is three years from the date of injury. In your case, the date of injury would probably be the date of the surgery.
