My problems with my surgery didn't really start until it was too late to gather all the information and obtain a lawyer. Is it still too late?

Generally speaking, the statute of limitations for medical negligence cases is three years from the date of injury. There are some exceptions to the general rule. If you are close to that time frame, I suggest you contact a lawyer to discuss your potential claim.
