Legal Question in Personal Injury in Wisconsin

Confused. . .statue of limitations

I was in a car accident 3 years ago. I was arrested for a DUI. I had injured my friend in the accident. She was riding in the car with me. She has never filed any claims against me. She didn't even come to the hearing to get restitution. I have now recieved a summons today from her. It looks like she is suing me or my insurance company. I thought that she wasn't able to file claims after two years? I was just wondering if there were any loop holes that she might be trying to squeeze through. I just want to know what is going on. Any help, advice??

Re: Confused. . .statue of limitations

The statute of limitations in Wisconsin for injury claims is three years from the date of injury. Wis. Stat. sec. 893.54. The summons and complaint must have been filed by the third anniversary of the accident.
