I cannot tell you whether you may have a meritorious claim or not. That is something that would have to be determined by a lawyer investigating all of the facts. There is a three year deadline for filing personal injury cases in Wisconsin. I do not know whether a lawyer can determine whether you may have a case, or not, with such a short time remaining before the statute of limitations runs. If you wish to look into your potential claim, you should contact a lawyer tomorrow morning to see if the lawyer is willing to look into the claim for you. Most lawyers, including me, do not want to get involved with a potential claim with so little time in which to investigate the claim. If you think your employer is the culprit, such a claim may also be prohibited by the workers compensation law in Wisconsin. That law, generally, does not allow an employee to sue that employee's employer for an injury caused by the employer's negligence. The lawyer with whom you consult will have to determine whether the workers compensation law would effectively bar the claim you are thinking about making. Finally, and again speaking generally, you should not be liable for slander if what you say is an honest recitation of the facts. Before saying too much, however, I think that you should not attribute your illness to something that may only be possibly related. In other words, you should be reasonably sure about what you say before going ahead and saying it.
