Power of Attorney

Can the principal write their own Power of Attorney document have it noterized and consider it legal?

I assume you are asking about a durable power of attorney. Wis. Stat. secs. 243.07 and 243.10 relate to such powers of attorney. As far as I can tell, there is no prohibition against the principal preparing the document and then properly executing it in the presence of a notary public. In fact, Wis. Stat. sec. 243.10 has the basic text of a power of attorney for anybody to use in preparing one.
