Legal Question in Personal Injury in Wisconsin

Vehicle damage as result of an accident

I was recently in an automobile accident in which I slowed for deer crossing the road and was hit from behind. I drive a 1994 Ford Ranger extended cab. Part of the damage resulting was that my seat went into the reclined position and as a result my head smashed through the back window. Thankfully I only suffered a few small cuts along my neck and my head was bruised. However this would not have happened if my seat would not have broken. I have been told by a few of my co-workers that those seats are not supposed to break like that. If the seat wouldn't have broken I would have suffered less injury. My question is this, do I have a legal right to do something about this to Ford, and if so, how would I go about this?

Re: Vehicle damage as result of an accident

You always have the right to sue, even it your

case is less than worthwhile. Keep in mind

that a products liability action against a big

three auto maker and/or it's subcontractors, would

probably cost a minimum of $20,000 to $50,000. in out

of pocket expenses to litigate and find out

whether it's worthwhile.
