Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Wisconsin

I had a boyfriend that lived with me, only my name on lease, I paid all bills, he did receive mail, I kicked him out when he broke my arm, somebody told him I couldn't without an eviction notice. Is this accurate?

Breaking your arm escalates this to a whole new level; so you should talk to a lawyer about whether a domestic abuse retraining order might be appropriate, if he he deliberately injured you, in order to help assure your safety from future assaults. Such a restraining order could lead to his speedy arrest if he ever tried to return, if you request police assistance in the future. However, if he leaves voluntarily after you ask him to leave, then you no longer need a formal eviction with notice.or lawsuit followup. If he can prove that he was a tenant (which requires more than just receiving mail there), you might need something more formal to protect yourself from a possible counterclaim improper eviction if there is no voluntary departure, but voluntary departure is always a good defense..
