Landlord liability responsibility

Is a landlord required to carry liability insurance in the State of Wisconsin for injuries occuring on the property grounds. Injury caused due to their negligence in keeping a drainage hole visible so that a tenant cannot step into it and become injured? The hole being overgrown with grass.

WI has many statutes obligating landlords to

keep a relatively safe place of business

for members of the public, but most are

triggerred by written notice of the problem. Try that first.
