Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Wisconsin
lease liability
I agreed to shre rent costs on a month to month basis with another person. I found out the person signed a 5 year lease and also rented another room in the building. I did not sign a lease or agree to rent any more space. Am I liable for anything.

Hello, if you didnt sign the lease, or anything else in writing, then in all likelihood you are not liable. However, I have only the bare facts you have given me, and dont know what facts the landlord or friend would think are the case. That could change my opinion. Good luck, Mark J. Mahoney
