Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Wisconsin

Mailboxes on private property

My residential lot is bordered on the north by a private street running east and west. My lot line is at the south edge of the private street. To the north of this private street is an apartment complex. The manager installed mailboxes for the apartments on the south side of the private street which is on my lot. Is it legal for him to install mailboxes on my property or can I have him remove them?

Re: Mailboxes on private property

Hello,

You should check with the post office on this and see what it says. I am not sure of the answer, likely there is a right to locate post boxes but rules that pertain thereto. The post office should be able to tell you know those rules are. If they dont make sense to you, you could have a lawyer review your situation.

Best wishes, Mark J. Mahoney
