Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Wisconsin

I have property with easement rights (stated "for ingress and egress" ) to get to and from it. The easement ends at a county highway but I don't have a driveway to park or drive on the easement. My question is, do I have to get permission from the landowner to install a driveway or can I get a permit without his consent and/or approval?

First, I would look at the easement. If it is just general, as you indicate, you should have the right to improve the easement area to provide for ingress and egress. That would be in a fashion consistent with your use of the property. So for a home, I'd expect a typical driveway type improvement, not a super highway. You may still need municipal permits, bonds, a culvert, etc. Good luck!
