Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Wisconsin

selling without notifying tenant

i moved in my residence nov 1st 2000. landlord had plan on selling home before i moved in and did not disclose to me that she was selling. i have one month now to find a place to live. is there any legal move i can make to lengthen my time here to give me time to relocate. is this an illegal move of the landlord. i should have been notified that she was intending on selling before being asked by her to rent the unit. it is a duplex and i was going to rent both sides, now i have to move after living here 1 month. can you help me

Re: selling without notifying tenant

The new landlord is generally bound by the terms of

your old lease for the first 12 months. If you did not

have a lease, you are really in no worse position

than you were with the old landlord--a month to month

tenant.
