Street Sign Placed Off of Road Right of Way on Private Property

I would not do anything with regard to removal of a misplaced street sign without first consulting with both the municipal government in charge of that road and with a lawyer who has experience practicing before your city/village counsel. You will also need a survey to establish where the right of way/easement ends, which could conceivably be 50 feet or more from the pavement. It seems unlikely that the authorities would intentionally trespass on your property when they placed the sign.
