Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Wisconsin
I have a written lease that expirese on 7/31/12. In May,the Tennant asked for a one month extension via a text message. I accepted the extension via text and they have been planning for the extra days. Now he sends me a text saying since I didn't have them "sign" the extension, they want to move out.
Can my text messages constitute an extension of the lease?

Great question. For an extension, even an oral agreement would be sufficient. Since it's proven by text, it is sufficient to extend. Please email ([email protected]) if you would like further assistance in the matter.
All the best.
