Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Wisconsin
Legality of age difference
I am a 17 year old, about to be 18 in January of 2009, male. I live in New Jersey. I have a female friend, living in Wisconsin, who is 15 turning 16 in late December 2008. Is there any legal issue what so ever if I travel, after I'm 18 and before, to Wisconsin to visit her with no intention of sex or any other acts?
If she decides to claim something happened, can there be a case if I didn't do anything?

Re: Legality of age difference
If she claims you did something, the cops and the DA will likely believe her first (until they cannot find evidence of sex or sexual touching...). So, basically, the answer is yes, there can be a case. Then it would come down to proving your innocence of any activity. Also, in Wisconsin, the age difference doesn't really matter. You could be the same age and both under the age of majority; and, if there is a sexual act, then that can constitute statutory rape.
