Legal Question in Traffic Law in Wisconsin

Drivers lincense suspension

I received a seat belt ticket in connection with a criminal case. The DA said he was dismissing all traffic tickets and just focusing on the main case. The case was resolved last November. I was recently notified that my license was being suspended because of that seat belt ticket. A judgment has already been entered for that ticket. I will be fighting the suspension but should I pay the ticket in the mean time so my license is valid? My fear is that paying can be used against me as an admission of guilt.

Drivers License Suspension Due to Non-Payment of Fine

The quickest way to reinstate one's license if it is suspended for nonpayment of a fine is, of course to pay the fine. You may have other remedies available, however, such as reopening the conviction, but this is likely to at least a month or two. Payment of a fine is usually not taken as an admission of guilt--it can be refunded later if the case is reopened and you are not convicted subsequently.
