Legal Question in Traffic Law in Wisconsin
Driving after suspended license
My son was cited with underage drinking while in collage and lost his license for a month. I received a letter at my house from the DOT stating the date his license will be reinstated. I called him to let him know but did not read the back of the letter which stated he had to go to the DOT an file for reinstatement. The day after he thought he had his license back he was cited for speeding and driving without a license. Do we accept the charges or try to get the driving without a license dropped, if so what is the best way to go about doing this?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Accidently Driving after Suspended License
In most counties, if a person in this situation reinstates their license and brings it with them to court, the DA will reduce a driving after revocation charge. You should consult with an experienced criminal traffic lawyer as soon as possibl in order to review your son's options.
