Will Paying a Fine Reinstate a License Suspended for Nonpayment of a Fine?
Sometimes, payment of a past due fine will make a driver eligible to reinstate their license (which generally requires a trip to the DOT and payment of a reinstatement fee). However, if the driver's license is also revoked for other reasons, this may not be true. Such "other reasons" for revocation or suspension can included court orders due to convictions for drunken driving or other major traffic offenses (including driving after revocation sometimes), excess demerit points, habitual traffic offender status (a five year revocation), medical disability or cancelation of mandatory insurance. You need to consult with an experienced traffic attorney as soon as possible.
