Legal Question in Traffic Law in Wisconsin
If you slide out on an icy on-ramp, causing cars to drive around but not causing any accident or damage. Do you to stop and report the incident or drive on to avoid cars from sliding into you?
1 Answer from Attorneys
There is no obligation to report an accident if there was no accident, I therefore don't know why you would feel obligated to stop in this situation, unless you wanted to suggest attention from a road maintenance crew. If it was an isolated slippery spot which would benefit from a little more salt, calling to suggest this would certainly be the right thing to do.
