Driving with a revoked license is a crime, so once that fact became known, you were fair game to be stopped, with more than adequate probable cause. It is common to randomly run plates to see if the owner is revoked, so there is no requirement for you to first tell him that news. It is also easy to check public records when entering any neighborhood, in order to see who was recently revoked. All this being said, you might still have defenses available, and will still need representation at a criminal sentencing if the defenses are unsuccessful, so an experienced criminal defense lawyer is a must.
