Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Wisconsin
Changing our will to replace one of the executors with another
Can my wife and I change our will regarding executors by merely writing up our wishes as to who is to be replaced and who is to take over that job. We would sign it and have it notarized. We would then place one copy of the change with our will in our safe deposit box and give the other copy to the attorney who wrote up the will for us.
If in can't be done in this manner, then how should it be properly done?

My advice would be to redo the wills. Any other
type of revision may not comply with the legal
requirements for proper execution and witnessing.
In these days of word processors, the cost of
redoing the will is probably less than the cost
of having your lawyer retype a revision of the
will from scratch.
