Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Wisconsin

Depositions

Our family is divided over my mothers last will. I've been asked to appear in person in Wisconsin for a deposition. This would entail my traveling 2000 miles, which would be inconvienent and an added expense for me. Can I ignore this request or will they supeona me. The opposing attorney does not want to do this on the phone.

Re: Depositions

You may ignore it. No one has the ability to subpoena someone 2000 miles. Arrangements should be made to pay you for your lost time and costs if you agree to go. If you do not, and they do not want to do it by conference or video-phone, then the choice is entirely yours.
