Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Wisconsin

Overide Will

My parents have a will but wish to rename the Executor. To avoid attorney fees the second time around, can my parents type up the same exact will with a new person named as Executor and have a notary of public stamp it? If so, will this override the original will? Will it be legal?

Re: Overide Will

There is much more to getting a valid, legal will than just typing and signing it. You need an attorney to be sure the party signing the will is competent, that the witnesses are competent, that it is executed properly, and that the testator knows how to safeguard, when to amend and how to tie other items into a will, such as insurance.
