Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Wisconsin

Right of ownership

My mother passed away about a month ago, without a will. A lot of the things in the house belonged to me. My brothers have taken these things, and said since they were in the house, they belonged to my mother?

They will be putting a price on this stuff, and selling it.

Is it mine?

Re: Right of ownership

Hello,

If your mother gave those items to you, they are yours, it doesnt matter where they are kept. However, proving that she gave them to you, when they were not taken into your possession and moved away from her home, will be difficult. How will anyone know what she gave to you and what she did not?

Consult a local lawyer to see if there is a way to sort this out.
