Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Wisconsin

Will Validity

My Wife and I had wills drawn up when we lived in Wisconsin. Are those wills valid in North Carolina? And will we have any problem having them accepted into probate?

Re: Will Validity

You should contact a NC attorney for the answer. Each

state has the right to set execution requirements, such

as the number of witnesses. Wisconsin only requires

two witnesses. If NC requires 3, such a will may not

be admissible to probate there. Thus, you will want to

contact an NC attorney for the answer. If the execution

requirements are the same, the "full faith and credit"

clause of the US Constitution would mean your wills

are still valid in NC.
