Company buy out when on worker's compensation
I am a supervisor currently working 6 hour/day sendentary work only because of restrictions physician has written while still on workers compensation from an injury incurred at work. My current company is being sold. Will I lose my job because I cannot perform my job to the fullest extent because of the sendentary restrictions from the injury. I have about 4 weeks remaining for FMLA along with the worker's comp. Once the FMLA is used up, do I lose my job? What can I expect when our company is sold? Do I have any rights to keep my job once I am released back to full time without restrictions with the new company? Do I have any rights to keep my job if restrictions continue once the new company takes over? Currently I am unable to stand for long periods of time and therefore the sedentary restriction has been written. If this condition does not improve, what rights do I have to continue employment with the new company?

This sounds like a major claim. You should
therefore be represented. Even though your
job may be gone, you may be entitled to sig-
nificant disability benefits under the workman's
compensation act. How did the injury occur?
