Legal Question in Business Law in Wyoming
Suing a Newspaper for Liable
My son was convicted of a DUI. The local paper then printed the following in the police reports:
''John Doe'' was arrested for failure to report as a sex offender.
Can the newpaper be sued for liable? We are in the state of Wyoming.

Re: Suing a Newspaper for Liable
Libel is the communication of false information about a person that damages that person's reputation.
It is my opinion that whether your son uses my office or other lawyers, he should proceed with his case. Please do not delay. If he delays the commencement of his suit, he may at some point be barred from bringing it.
