Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Wyoming

satisfaction of judgment

My brother won a $16,000.00 judgment against me for estate taxes due our father's estate this past May. My brother has been a continuing legal nightmare since my father's death in 1991. I lost my father's business to an unrelated judgment in 2002. Trying to satisfy a 21,000.00 judgment I offered my business inventory valued at $60,000.00, my cost. Arrangements were made to have this inventory picked through their lawyer. We later discovered my brother had received this inventory. To this day we have never heard anything about this transfer. I was shocked when I learned my brother had filed a civil suit against me and had hired this same lawyer to represent his case. I lost my business to this lawyer and my brother has never acknowledged his receiving my inventory. These two have forced me out of business leaving me with no means of income. The only thing I have left from my father's estate is the building that I had used to operate my business. They have started proceedings to seize my bank accounts. The inventory that was taken from me would have easily satisfied the judgment and my brothers judgment as well. Is there anything I can do to stop my brother? He has legally managed to take my inheritance.

Re: satisfaction of judgment

If you have no assets, why are they moving to seize bank accounts?

Is the building in your name only?

A review of the relevant litigation and judgment documents are necessary to advise you.

You may wish to consider a number of options, including bankruptcy, or motion in proceedings subsequent to credit you for the seized inventory.
