Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wyoming
parent liability for teen
I have a 17 year old daughter that will not go to high school, she smokes, uses illegal drugs and alcohol, does not come home at night and is extremely disrespectful to any authority. Am I liable for her criminal behavior? What options do I have regarding emancipation?

Re: parent liability for teen
You are not responsible for her criminal behavior on the facts you have provided. She may be a truant from school, so you should be in touch with the school authorities if you have concerns in that area. She can be emancipated by court action, but that would require her cooperation. She can be reported to law enforcement, but you may not wish to take that kind of action. Good luck.
