Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wyoming
running out of options!
hi, Thanks for your help in advance. I was extradited back to the state of Wyoming to Jackson Hole a year ago for the charge of larceny by bailee felony. I got out of jail and I was given 5 years of probation I have paid all of my restitution back to the state. I recently had a lawyer I hired and he was working to get my probation terminated. I am in a different county currently in Casper, Wyoming then where my original charge was located, but since then I have recieved 2 dui's in a period of 6 months. I know that is not good, but is it possible to still get my probation terminated since I am not from here and I have family and a job back home in California and I have nothing here but trouble to get into? no moral support or family?
What are my options and if I leave the area what are the chances of them extraditing me back although my restitution to the state is paid in full?

Since you have a lawyer you should consult with him or her regarding your options.

It may be possible to obtain an early discharge of your Teton County probation since your offenses occurred in Natrona County, but you have violated your terms of probation so you have no right to early termination. You should be talking with your retained lawyer about this. As for absconding, not a good idea as you could be again extradited from CA to WY and would most likely do prison time should that happen. Best to deal with it now and stay in touch with your lawyer about the progress of your case.
