Legal Question in Criminal Law in Wyoming
stealing pain pills
Is their a statute of limitations on prosecuting someone who has admitted to stealing pain pills to the police. It has been over seven months since the incident without being charged or arrested. In the meantime Ive completed inpatient rehab and have been clean verified by random drug testing. I can't proceed with my career until this has been rectified leagally, any advice? Thanks.

Re: stealing pain pills
There are no statutes of limitations on criminal activity in Wyoming. Whether you are prosecuted or not depends upon the discretion of the prosecutor. Depending on the severity of your crime, and your criminal record, your attorney may be able to negotiate a deferred imposition of a guilty plea, which means all charges are dismissed if you abide by the terms of the agreement for the time specified.
